Pet emergencies can happen unexpectedly during a booking. Here's what you, as a Pet Owner, should expect from your Pet Sitter and how to ensure your pet gets the care they need.
What to Expect During a Pet Emergency
- Immediate Contact. Your Pet Sitter will contact you or your emergency contact immediately to inform you about your pet’s condition.
- Permission for Medical Action . They’ll seek your permission before proceeding with any medical care. Ensure your emergency contact is authorised to make decisions if you’re unavailable.
- Vet Visit
- If you have a preferred vet, your Pet Sitter will take your pet there.
- If no vet is specified or the preferred vet is unavailable, they may contact Pawssum Mobile Vets at 1300 343 580 for home vet assistance.
- In urgent cases, they’ll take your pet to the nearest emergency vet.
- Mad Paws Notification. Your Pet Sitter will notify Mad Paws of the incident to ensure proper support and documentation. During business hours, they’ll call 02 8046 6536 or email trust@madpaws.com.au with “EMERGENCY” in the subject line.

- Create an Emergency Plan: Discuss an emergency action plan with your Pet Sitter to ensure clear communication and quick responses.
