When a pet goes missing, quick action and clear communication are key to reuniting them with their owner. Follow these steps to maximise your chances of locating the pet quickly.

     • Local pound
     • Veterinary clinics
     • Council rangers
     • RSPCA
3. Search Nearby Areas
4. Notify Mad Paws within 48 hours from the time the incident occurred
   • If the pet remains missing, email trust@madpaws.com.au with “EMERGENCY” in the subject line.
   • Include detailed information about how the pet escaped.
5. Key Information to Share
   • Existing Medical Conditions : Any allergies or illnesses the pet may have.
   • Past Serious Injuries : Details of any serious injuries or traumas.
   • Current Heat Status : Note if the pet is in heat.
   • Toilet Training Status : Whether the pet is toilet trained.
   • Behavioural Tendencies : Habits like jumping fences, digging, or escaping.
