If your pet injures another pet or person during a booking, act quickly to ensure safety, document the incident, and notify Mad Paws so it can be reviewed under the Mad Paws Guarantee.

The focus is immediate safety, clear communication, and timely reporting.


Instructions

1. Ensure immediate safety

Work with your Pet Sitter to:

  • Separate all animals or individuals involved
  • Secure your pet (leash, carrier, or safe confinement if needed)
  • Prevent further injury or escalation

2. Check for injuries and seek care

  • Assess all pets or individuals involved
  • Seek veterinary or medical attention immediately if needed
  • Follow professional advice for treatment

3. Communicate with your Pet Sitter

  • Confirm what happened and when
  • Stay in open, factual communication
  • Align on immediate next steps for care and safety

4. Notify Mad Paws (within 48 hours of the incident)

Report the incident as soon as possible so it can be documented and reviewed under the Mad Paws Guarantee.

5. Document everything
