# What Is Not Covered by the Mad Paws Guarantee?

The Mad Paws Guarantee is designed to help review certain incidents that occur during eligible bookings. However, not every situation is covered.

Understanding the exclusions can help set expectations and ensure you have appropriate arrangements in place before a booking begins.

## **What May Be Covered**

Subject to the Mad Paws Guarantee Terms, eligible incidents may include:

* Veterinary costs for injuries sustained by a Pet Owner's pet during a booking
* Veterinary costs for injuries to a Pet Sitter's resident pet caused by a booked pet
* Physical damage to a Pet Owner's property caused during a booking
* Certain out-of-pocket medical costs arising from injury to third parties caused by a pet during a booking

*All requests are assessed individually and are subject to eligibility requirements, exclusions, and applicable limits.*

## **What Is Not Covered**

#### **1. Damage to a Pet Sitter's Property**

Damage to property owned by the Pet Sitter, or by someone living with or related to the Pet Sitter, is not covered.

#### **2. Damage Caused by Your Own Pet**

Damage to a Pet Owner's property caused by their own pet is not covered.

#### **3. Incidents Outside an Eligible Booking**

Incidents that occur outside the dates of a booking made and paid for through Mad Paws are not covered.

This includes:

* Meet & Greets
* Off-platform arrangements
* Incidents occurring before or after the booking period

#### **4. Long-Term Veterinary Care**

##### The Guarantee does not cover veterinary treatment that extends beyond 30 days from the date of the injury.

#### **5. Pre-existing, Chronic, or Breed-Specific Conditions**

##### Treatment costs relating to pre-existing, chronic, hereditary, congenital, or breed-specific conditions are not covered.

#### **6. Preventable Conditions**

Conditions that are considered preventable are not covered.

Examples may include:

* Fleas
* Ticks
* Parasites
* Certain vaccine-preventable illnesses

#### **7. Injury to Owners or Sitters**

##### The Guarantee does not cover injuries sustained by:

* Pet Owners
* Pet Sitters
* Family members
* Household members of either party

#### **8. Emotional or Indirect Losses**

##### The Guarantee does not cover:

* Emotional distress
* Pain and suffering
* Loss of income
* Travel expenses
* Other indirect or consequential losses

#### **9. Costs Covered by Other Insurance**

The Mad Paws Guarantee is secondary to other applicable insurance.

This may include:

* Pet insurance
* Home and contents insurance
* Health insurance
* Other relevant insurance policies

#### **10. Theft**

The Mad Paws Guarantee does not provide cover for theft.

If you believe theft has occurred, you should contact the appropriate law enforcement authority.
