A Police Check Badge adds credibility to your profile on Mad Paws and helps Pet Owners trust you as a reliable Sitter. To apply for a police check, follow these simple steps to obtain and upload your document.

## **Instructions**


1. **Choose an Accredited Provider**
   * Select a trusted provider such as:
     * [Checked.com.au](https://police-check.madpaws.com.au/checked/)
     * National Crime Check
     * Local police station
     * Authorised third-party provider
2. **Prepare Your Documents**
   * Gather identification documents such as:
     * Driver’s licence, passport, or birth certificate
     * Proof of address (e.g., utility bill or bank statement)
3. **Complete the Application**
   * Visit the provider’s website or office and fill out the application form.
   * Pay the processing fee (costs vary by provider).
4. **Wait for Processing**
   * Police checks are typically processed within 3–10 business days, depending on the provider.
   * You’ll receive the results via email or post.
5. **Upload Your Police Check to Mad Paws**
   * Log in to your Mad Paws account.
   * Go to the dashboard and click **Upload Police Check** under the verification section.
   * Select your document and upload it.
6. **Allow Time for Badge Approval**
   * Once uploaded, the Police Check Badge will appear on your profile within 7 business days if the document meets all requirements.
