# Emergency! Missing Pet

If your pet goes missing during a booking, quick action and clear communication are essential. Follow these steps to support your pet's safe return and ensure the incident is properly documented with Mad Paws.

## **Instructions**


1. **Stay Calm and Gather Information**
   *Ask your Pet Sitter when and where your pet was last seen, along with any relevant details about the incident.*
2. **Contact Local Services**
   *Notify nearby animal shelters, vets, pounds, local councils, and the RSPCA. Provide a clear description of your pet, including their name, breed, colour, and any distinguishing features.*
3. **Coordinate Search Efforts**
   *Work with your Pet Sitter to search nearby areas your pet may be familiar with, such as parks, walking routes, and surrounding streets.*
4. **Notify Mad Paws**
   *Report the incident to Mad Paws as soon as possible and, where possible, within **48 hours of the incident occurring**.*

5. **Keep Records**
