If your pet goes missing during a booking, quick action and clear communication are essential. Follow these steps to support your pet's safe return and ensure the incident is properly documented with Mad Paws.


Instructions

  1. Stay Calm and Gather Information Ask your Pet Sitter when and where your pet was last seen, along with any relevant details about the incident.

  2. Contact Local Services Notify nearby animal shelters, vets, pounds, local councils, and the RSPCA. Provide a clear description of your pet, including their name, breed, colour, and any distinguishing features.

  3. Coordinate Search Efforts Work with your Pet Sitter to search nearby areas your pet may be familiar with, such as parks, walking routes, and surrounding streets.

  4. Notify Mad Paws Report the incident to Mad Paws as soon as possible and, where possible, within 48 hours of the incident occurring.

  5. Keep Records Save any photos, messages, timelines, and details of search efforts, as these may assist with any review under the Mad Paws Guarantee.
